Tightness, rough sensations to the touch, blushing, small fine lines of dehydration, even desquamation… these can be the sensations that can be caused by dry skin.

AT what is due?

First of all, you have to differentiate between dry skin and dehydrated skin.

Dehydrated skin lacks water, it dries out temporarily due to unsuitable care or its environment, it will be a question of using products rich in humectants such as hyaluronic acid and avoiding cleansers with sodium, too aggressive.

Dry skin, on the other hand, lacks sebum and/or ceramides (lipids naturally present in the skin). In short, the hydrolipidic film is too thin or of "poor quality", yes we are not all equal before nature!

Ceramides hold the elements of the skin together and form a protective layer. You should also know that their number decreases with age, which explains why the skin can dry out over the years.

Why does water dry out the skin?

We have all had the feeling half an hour to an hour after washing or bathing that our skin was much drier than before.

In short, the skin is so wet that the dermis creates a bridge to the surface of the skin to evacuate it and some of the water naturally present in the dermis at the base leaves with it!

In addition, the soap attacks the skin. By removing the dirt, it removes the bodies and therefore strips our hydrolipidic film! To overcome this, it is important to hydrate the body with a suitable cream every day.

How to help then?

First of all, it will be a question of cleaning your skin with products with a mild PH so as not to attack it.

Then, and most importantly, you will need to moisturize your skin morning and evening with very rich textures.

(Yes! Even men should apply moisturizer after shaving, very irritating to the skin)
