Rhinoplasty: "Rhinoplasty is the cosmetic surgery procedure of the nose. It allows for the correction of a bump, a deviation, an overly long appearance, excessive volume, or a drooping tip." }
Indeed, the nose represents one of the most common complexes among women, but also among men. Sometimes a bump or an undesirable hollow is literally seen as "the nose in the middle of the face" and can absolutely change everything about a face, especially about a profile.
One of the major trends in recent years has been to accept these small flaws; a hashtag was even created on Instagram: #sideprofileselfie. While many have managed to embrace it, some still feel self-conscious. Fortunately, there are ways to remedy this in order to feel more satisfied with oneself.
How to reshape your nose without surgery?
A nose can have different shapes, either by birth or as a result of trauma such as an accident; a nose can be crooked, hooked, trumpet-shaped, or even straight...
Medical rhinoplasty, also known as "injectable rhinoplasty," involves injections of hyaluronic acid in specific areas of the nose.
The practitioner will begin by examining the nose from the front and side, as well as the various angles formed by the nose and the rest of the face (at the level of the forehead and lips).
He will thus be able to know exactly how the correction will look, even show it to his patient using 3D software, although this practice is more common for surgical rhinoplasties due to their permanent nature, as opposed to injections that fade over time.
To correct the bump or indentation of the nose, the aesthetic doctor will make a small injection on the bridge of the nose. If there is an indentation, he will fill it; if there is a bump, he will make a small injection above it to create a visual effect of a straighter bridge. If you desire a more trumpet-shaped nose, he can perform a slight injection at the tip of the nose.
The advantages of this technique are speed, the lack of need for social eviction, and its reversibility, as well as immediate visible results.
At Centrale Fillers, we can offer you filling products that can be used by your practitioner such as Art Filler Universal by Fillmed or Stylage M.
What surgery is used to reshape the nose?
If hyaluronic acid injection is not sufficient, surgical rhinoplasty may be considered with a cosmetic surgeon. This is a much more involved procedure, as it is permanent, performed under general anesthesia, and requires at least 10 days of social withdrawal.
The surgeon will first offer you 2 preliminary appointments to ensure that the operation is feasible and to answer all your questions. If there is a deformity, he may prescribe a radiological assessment to verify that the structure of the nose and the nasal septum are suitable for the operation. He may also offer you a 3D simulation of the result.
Then, you will need to schedule an appointment with the anesthetist, between one month and 2 days before the operation.
There are several techniques for nose surgery, the most recent being an ultrasound technique: Piezotome®, which is much gentler and less invasive than the previous technique that involved breaking the bones of the nose.
It remains to be anticipated that the aftermath of the operation includes: bleeding, hematomas, swelling… These complications occur within two weeks after the operation; they are completely normal and minimized with the ultrasound technique.
How much does it cost to redo your nose?
A medical rhinoplasty session (filler injection) lasts about 15 to 20 minutes and lasts approximately one year.
The rates vary depending on the number of syringes used, the extent of the corrections, the reputation of the doctor, and other factors. On average, a surgeon will charge between €400 and €600 per session.
As for surgical rhinoplasty, its price depends on the operation performed, the technique used, the surgeon, and their location of practice, but one should expect to pay between €2500 and €8000.
