Why is the smile important?
A smile is a combination of things; it can be heard, seen, and felt! It is both a formidable weapon when wielded well and also a protection and comfort in the face of the unexpected challenges of everyday life. First of all, a smile is the expression of Joy: Indeed, the brain recognizes this signal and releases endorphins. The feeling of well-being is immediate. The smile is also the "tool" for creating social connections: A valuable almost indispensable aid in interpersonal relationships. But, the smile also serves in conflict resolution: In a tense situation, the smile indeed helps to stabilize, or even catalyze, one's emotions, lower the present stress level, and sometimes even allows for a turnaround towards a beautiful exit without collateral damage! It is no coincidence that some call the smile the antidote of society! And of course... A smile is contagious! Everyone knows that a smile is contagious! In 2008, in the United Kingdom, researchers were able to measure that an individual's joy spreads, like wildfire, to the friends of their friends, reaching up to the third degree.th degree of separation between individuals! As a reminder, with 7 degrees, the whole world is reached! In short, to have a positive impact on the world, all you need is to have a smile! In this same study, it is stated: Knowing a smiling and happy person within less than 1 mile (~1.6 km) from one's home increases the likelihood of being happy in return by 25%. If our neighbor is happy right next door, then the chances rise to 36%. Moreover, having a happy friend tends to further increase the chances, this time up to 42%! Of course, smiling is not always synonymous with happiness, but it seems that smiling is nonetheless strongly correlated with joy, and given the impact that a smile can generate, it is each person's responsibility to have a smile? ! And of course, almost indispensable in seduction: In France, the smile is always what women appreciate most in a man (37%), ahead of the gaze (13%) (Baileys-Ifop survey). So make an effort, smile! On the other hand, avoid forced smiles...! (It's not always successful!) Now that you are convinced, it is about making smiling a reflex in your daily life in order to enjoy all its benefits and to share them with those around you!
